About Shiba Inu

Shiba inus are known to be very bold and fiercely proud of themselves with a good nature and highly alert. They are very quick and agile dogs and like to have high activity. 

Shiba Inus

The shiba inus is a Japanese small to medium Spitz breed. They are alert and agile that coke very well with hiking and your outdoor activity lifestyles. 

The shiba inu was originally bred for hunting small animals and they do still have a strong prey instinct.  The shiba inu can be small and compact with a well-defined muscular frame. 

Averaging weight of 18 to 23 lbs. 

Females are typically a little bit smaller and more petite, whereas males can be a little heavier with a stronger bone structure and muscular attributes. 

The shiba inu is a double coated dog with a short stiff straight outer coat and a soft thick undercoat. They can be very fox-like. Their tail makes them stand out from other breeds with a beautiful curl.

Overall the shiba inu is a healthy breed with very few health issues. 

Their average life expectancy is 12 to 15 years with proper daily exercise and good nutritional diet they should live a long and happy life.
